 Short Heart Warming Story

INFORMATION PLEASE

When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember well the polished old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother used to talk to it.

Riding the circuit: UM preachers use Jeeps for multi-point charges today

By Mary Jacobs

Not so long ago, almost every tiny rural crossroad had a few buildings marking the community’s identity: a small store, a grange, a post office and a Methodist church.

Got problems? Answers not found on yellow brick road
Sometimes we forget how blessed we are. As individuals. As families. As friends. As neighbors. As Americans. God blesses us daily, but too often we don't see those blessings because we're too busy complaining. God wants us to shine, not whine. More>>>

COMMENTARY: British monikers—and Methodists who love them
By Kathleen LaCamera

Britain is full of riches for those of us who love interesting place names. On my way to interview a church-growth guru last week, I passed through the village of Pot Shrigley near my home in the northwest of England. It’s just down the road from Wincle. Driving along, I couldn’t help but wonder what it’s like to grow up in a town with a name that sounds like it belongs in a nursery rhyme. More>>>

Due to the flooding of the basement and the problems that have ensued, church services have been cancelled for this coming Sunday, July 5th.

We've been picking beans every other day. If you have someone you would like to invite to church, giving them something from the church garden along with the invitation breaks the ice. Marcie and I have delivered the first six quart bags. It's a great way to be involved in Gods work of bringing others to Christ. If you would like to be involved please give us a call at: 319-937-5402, or email us at webmaster@kingstonumc.org.
